1) Our logic textbook, by Patrick J. Hurley & Lori Watson (2018), is about the study of logic. Logic is the study of the rules, methods, principles, standards, and criteria for good or correct reasoning/arguments. We can also say that logic is the study and analysis of (structured) arguments. In the logic book, pp. xxii-xxiv, the authors briefly answered the simple question: “Why study logic”? Read that section, and then write an interpretive analysis or summary based on your understanding of why it is important for students (or anyone else) to study logic.
