Grossmont College Learning to Hate School? Dissection Board
Many young people strongly dislike, and some even dread, going to school. There are many factors that can contribute to disliking school, but for this post I want you to focus on the ways that learning principles might play a role. Pick one type of learning (classical, operant or social-cognitive) and provide a concrete example of the way in which this process could contribute to dislike of school.
Secondly, given that school is important and students who enjoy school do better, in what ways could be use the principles of learning to increase the likelihood that students would enjoy rather than dread going? Provide a concrete example of an intervention based on learning principles that could be implemented to help students enjoy school more.
