Constructs are developed to establish a set measurement and principles in which to relate data against each other and to ensure reproducibility and observable items across scholarly individuals. “Construct validity cannot be inferred from a single set of observations, whether these pertain to a measure’s factor structure, correlations with other measures, differentiation between selected groups, or hypothesized changes over time or in response to an experimental manipulation” (Clark & Watson, 1995). The actual development needs to be multi-faceted as to incorporate as wide an observation as possible, in which the evaluative portion is present to then reduce the data down to a scope that is more manageable for a specific aspect for item. The focus when developing the construct is to initially establish a network that will incorporate the data required, however then during the evaluation process reduce this down to the exact information that can assist with the information that is being sought for a specific research project. By initially developing a construct that hones in on a specific set of data, this allows a researcher to acquire enough data to then can review and determine the specific items required and utilize this information for the required intent.
