University of Miami A Peoples History of The United States Research Paper

I am going to write Art & Science magazine of UM, To write an article by observation, but not by using online materials to write about how um magazine changes, such as cover, content, etc. It’s like the “A People’s History of the United States”

Requirement:

An archive is a collection of historical records related to an organization, a place, or a family (primary sources). In the first chapter of “A People’s History of the United States” Howard Zinn uses primary sources, like journals and logs written by Columbus and Bartolome De Las Casas, to portray the other side of Columbus. In this assignment you will research an artifact, an issue, or a person found in the UM archives. You can use secondary sources to learn the history of the artifact, or to interpret the meaning of the artifact. However, it is not a requirement to use secondary sources. The aim is for you to delve into the archives and do your own research, observation, interpretation, and discussion. The bulk of your essay should be about the archive you choose, the meanings connected to it, what you found surprising, etc. After looking through the UM archives and selecting an artifact, person, organization, place, etc. you will pick an archive to focus on as the topic of your essay, collect information on that topic, and write your observations and understanding of that archive. For example you might be looking at magazine covers from the UM magazine from the 1950s through the 1980s and observing a trend, or it can simply be informative (the history behind a building on campus). There are a number of different archives though, it doesn’t have to be related to the university, but it does have to be an archive you found through the UM library.
