Topic: The Rosenbergs (Julius and Ethel Rosenberg) Two Part Project
Part one: Paper
1. Targeted paper length is 8 – 10 full pages in length, double space, 12” font used throughout (not counting the title page, and works cited)
2. Provided draft paper containing draft outline.
3. Body and Paragraph Construction/Mechanics: Paper included all of the following: Introduction with purpose statement, body, and conclusion AND: Entire paper was clear and concise and understandable in a single rapid reading. Generally free of grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors. Minimal use of passive voice. All acronyms are spelled out first.
4. Content and Themes: Student thoroughly described each theme and provided detailed examples or evidence for each of the following themes:
1.Background
2.Indicators
3.Material Compromised
4.Handler
5.Investigation
Evidence or examples presented clearly supported and enhanced overall understanding.
5. Analysis: Presented own detailed, strong and convincing analysis, based on research, to answer each question.
-What impact the spy’s actions had on U.S. national defense.
-How was the spy successful and/or manage to elude capture from authorities throughout the case?
-What could have been done to prevent this incident?
And provided at least two examples to answer each question.
Part Two: PowerPoint
Create a PowerPoint (Brief limit not exceeding 20 minutes.) Using the same information from the part one paper.
1. Organization: PowerPoint is clear, logical, and well organized. Listeners can follow along easily.
2. Use of Visual Aids: Visual aids included all of the following:
-Visual aids clearly support and enhance the learning objective, complicated concepts or idea being discussed.
-Quality of aids – good contrast/color/balance
-Generally free of spelling errors or spelling errors
-All acronyms were spelled out first time
3. Content and Themes: Student thoroughly described each theme and provided detailed examples or evidence for each of the following themes:
