1. What types of delinquency did girls report being involved with in Miller’s study? If you break these delinquent behaviors into categories ranging from low risk, medium risk and high risk, what would you put in each category? Why did you label the delinquent behaviors as you did? What were the key differences in the types of delinquent behavior that the girls were involved with between Columbus and St. Louis?
2. What types of victimization did the girl gang members experience? When did they experience victimization (before gang membership or during)? Does it matter when they experienced the victimization? How did their victimization affect the types of decisions that they made in joining a gang or in participating in delinquent activities once they were members? In what ways do the girls in Miller’s book feel empowered by their gang membership?
