Humanities Paper Assignment
Consider any of the readings that we have gone over so far this semester or any of the others in Book 4 that we haven’t discussed yet. How are they relevant to the present age? I was thinking about “on the family” by Alberti, “The book of the courtier” by Castiglione, or “the Nobility and Excellence of Women and the Defects and Vices of Men” by Marinelle.
The length should be a minimum of 3 pages, standard margins, double-spaced, showing real evidence of thought and should present enough in the way of references to the original to show that you have looked deeper into the ideas of the writer you chose. A superior paper will show the following:
More than minimum length, preferable 4+ pages
Absence of grammatical and spelling errors
Clear and concise writing
Real knowledge of the subject under discussion
Genuine interest shown in the subject under discussion
Actually being funny in places is a plus
Citation of sources if needed
