When communicating with someone from another culture who is not a native English speaker, what aspects as described in the chapter would help to enhance your communication and make your interaction effective? How can you ensure that you are interpreting aspects such as gestures and nonverbal expressions correctly?
The chapter discussed three indicators of health that have been studied worldwide — infant mortality, life expectancy, and subjective well-being. What other indicators do you think are important for assessing a country’s health and well-being? Do you think culture and diversity aspects influence health and well-being? How can such be incorporated in treatment modalities?
