Heterosexual privilege refers to unearned benefits and social advantages that are enjoyed by heterosexual people but not by sexual minority people. Many heterosexuals are likely to consider these privileges to be “natural.” They frequently go unarticulated and unexamined by those who benefit from them. Examples of heterosexual privilege include showing affection to your romantic partner in public without fear of retaliation, having the tax benefits associated with marriage, and talking openly to a co-worker about the vacation you had with your romantic partner.
Write a one page paper that identifies and discusses at least three examples of heterosexual privilege that occur in daily living.
