essay 4 pages ( Stratification and Life Chances )

Scenario: You are a two-parent household with two school aged children. You are moving to MA and looking to find a new city and neighborhood to raise your family. During your search, you look in two cities. Select one city from group A and one city from group B to learn about the neighborhood. Fill out the information (below the formatting guidelines) based on your two cities.

Group A: Wellesley, Dover, or Needham

Group B: Lawrence, Fall River, or Lee

After looking up the information on these two areas, write 4 page paper on how these two options will shape your hypothetical family’s future. Specific topics related to the textbook to cover include:

  • Stratification
  • Social Class
  • How this area is an agent of socialization for your children
  • Culture
  • How this area will affect networks and group dynamics
  • Any other main ideas you connect this scenario to from chapters 1-7 in the textbook

Format Requirements:

  • 4 pages double spaced (NOT including references or the attached form)
  • 12 point, Times New Roman font
  • 1” margins on all sides of the page
  • Citations must be in ASA or APA format

Before you write your paper, you need to collect information on the two cities you chose to consider for your family. For each city, you will need to find housing for your family to live in. Please provide links to the information you find for your cities. Note that there is not a required budget or income for your family. The goal of this assignment is to understand how the city/neighborhood you live in shapes your experiences.

You will need to attach the following information either as a separate document or as a page break at the end of your paper. This information does not count toward your page limit, but is required so you can write the paper. This is so I know what information you were using to write your paper.
