“Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work” by Jean Anyon
“‘I Just Wanna Be Average'” by Mike Rose
For this week’s discussion, analyze the teaching style of one of Mike Rose’s teachers using Anyon’s categories (working class, middle class, affluent professional or executive elite). At the end of your post, consider: Overall, do you believe Rose’s experiences at his high school tend to confirm or complicate Anyon’s analysis?
