Some cultural beliefs and behaviors are religious in nature, but how do we identify them? To get us started thinking about what is religious or not, I have sent each of you a message with a belief or behavior. For this first week’s assignment, you need to 1) post that belief/behavior in the discussion forum, 2) say whether you think it is religious in nature or not and 3) why you think that. 4) How are you defining what is religious?
For the discussion, the belief/behavior for you to post about is: “A woman is not sure she believes much in God, or at least not one who intervenes in daily life, but she still goes to church because she has friends there and enjoys the service.”
